MichaelWalsh

Lifting the Veil: Evenings with Michael Walsh
  Sundays 7:00 - 8:30 pm (Sept 12 & 26, Oct 10 & 31, Nov 14 & 28, Dec 12 & 26)
$10-15 donation appreciated but not required

Michael is an awake person who has recently come to the area from California, where he lived as a hermit for some years. He embodies no particular tradition, but simply speaks the truth. Jan Frazier encountered him in 2008 and, having been deeply affected by his heart and wisdom, she encouraged him to come to the East and offer his teachings to others.

Having been assured by Jan that people would be actually interested in the deeper truth as presented in common speech and using common English, Michael has decided to offer these occasional informal talks to offer the same for others as he chose to explore himself. "I do not teach what I THINK will help, but instead share the actual same observations which created me as I am."

Never losing sight of the deepest yearning open souls feel, and just how close to living truth most of us are, Michael shares his journey -- how it works, the goal, the feel of the actual terrain, beyond religious, even beyond spiritual -- to the actual core You. Now.

For more information, contact Michael (802-275-2151 or mwalsh7782@yahoo.com). For details about Michael, his new book, or CDs, visit MichaelWalsh2010.com. To read what Jan Frazier has to say about Michael, visit her blog http://www.janfrazierteachings.com/blog/?p=1882.

Inside Me Story Workshop with Rosie Fanale
For Parents & Children Ages 6-10
    Wednesdays 4:15 - 5:15 pm, Oct 6 - Dec 1    $88

** FREE INTRO CLASS: Wed. Sept 15, 4:15 - 5:15 pm **

Join us for this eight-week series combining techniques of the Focusing method and expressive arts in a learning adventure for parents and kids ages 6 - 10.

Focusing is a body-centered technique developed by Eugene Gendlin in 1960. It builds self-compassion, confidence and clarity in making positive decisions. During times of stress or illness, Focusing can provide healing and peace, and the stress reduction the technique provides helps children to learn when they may be otherwise distracted.

Led by instructor Rosie Fanale -- musician, music therapist, nurse practitioner, and certified focusing psychotherapist -- we will combine Focusing with art, music and movement to make it fun and help anchor these new skills into our bodies and into our daily lives!

Class size is limited; pre-registration is required. The cost for the eight-week series is $88 and must be paid in full by October 6. In order to support each participant and the group process, we ask for a commitment to the whole series. No class November 24.

** Join us for a FREE INTRO CLASS offered on September 15. **

If you need special financial arrangements, have questions about the class, or would like to pre-register, contact Rosie Fanale (413-652-2519 or rfanale08@yahoo.com).

Exploring the Inner Landscape

An Afternoon of Contemplative Practice with Lindel Hart & Rick Roberts

Sunday October 10, 3:00 - 6:00 pm  By donation and open to all

Join us for an afternoon of physical, spiritual and mental rejuvenation as we enter into the stillness that promotes self exploration through yoga postures, chanting and meditation. Come together in community with others for this mindful retreat from an overactive world to reconnect with your natural state of balance, harmony and peace.

The afternoon will include an asana practice guided by Lindel Hart and chanting with Rick Roberts and friends, as well as time for silent meditation together. There will be no specific instruction for meditation; we'll simply sit quietly together.

Like the quiet space between the in-breath and the out-breath, the stillness that arises out of yoga and chanting leads one easily and naturally into meditation. No vocal/musical, yoga or meditation experience is necessary to experience the joy of this afternoon of contemplative practice. All are welcome, regardless of the type of yoga, meditation or spiritual practice you may have.

This event is FREE and open to all: donations appreciated.

For more information, contact Lindel Hart (413-768-9291 or info@hartyoga.com) or Rick Roberts (413-367-9777 or Rick@PioneerValleyYoga.com).

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Greenfield Local Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Improvising Music from the Inside with Rosie Fanale

    Thursdays 7 - 9 pm (Sept 23, Oct 21 & Nov 18)     $10

We all have a musical core inside of us, whether or not we have chosen to become musical performers of any kind. Join us for a fun-filled exploration of musical improvisation techniques based on the Music for People program. We will use traditional musical instruments as well as "found" instruments from home (glasses, pots and pans, and anything else you might think of -- including and most of all your wonderful voice and your percussive body).

Everyone is welcome, from those who have been told at one time that they were tone deaf to those who have become professional musicians.

This unique, fun, centering, sound extravaganza is offered by Rosie Fanale, a graduate and 13 year participant of the Music For People programs. For more information, contact her at 413-652-2519 or rfanale08@yahoo.com).

KaliFoliage

Foliage as Awakened Life
A Special Evening with Michael Walsh
  Saturday Oct 16, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
$10-15 donation appreciated but not required

Join us for this special evening wherein we will explore the circle of life and death, how nothing comes into being until something else is ready to leave.

We will explore the Autumn Foliage as a metaphor for life coming full circle. Before foliage even hits the ground, it is preparing for the next generation of life.  We will also include in our inquiry Kali, the Hindu goddess of death, also known as "The Black One," who has been sought by women and families for blessings of fertility for thousands of years.

Let us look at where life truly starts, ends, and IS!  This should be a really invigorating event.
